He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlester Samuels and Alberta Samuels (Williams); his daughter La Tonya Lively; and his siblings, Arthur Samuels, Sr., Delores Ervin and Ilan Samuels.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa Samuels (Cagle); his children, Shameka Asberry (Shawn), Michael Asberry (Melissa), David Samuels Jr., Shantel Sky, Chasity Star and Grace Gilbert; his stepchildren, Tiffiney Easley, Nicholas Ancira, Cameron Ancira and Dewayne Easley; his grandchild Nylah Ancira; his siblings, Austine "Sam" Samuels, Johnny Samuels, Lester Samuels, Ricky Samuels (Angela) and Rita Herington (John); his siblings-in-law, Randy Cagle, Troy Cagle, Rusty Manes and Tammy Cagle; and his parents-in-law, Barbara and Danny Manes. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
