He was predeceased by: his parents, Claud Hughes and Gertrude Hughes (Short); his son Matthew Hughes; and his siblings, Glenn Hughes, Art Hughes, Marvin Hughes, Claud Hughes Jr., Edna Hedricks, Helen Sutterfield and Betty Everett.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Hughes (Thomure); his sons, Mark Hughes (Crystal Walter) of Moniteau County and Jeff Hughes of Fredericktown; his grandchildren, Lauren Hughes, Hunter Hughes and Brian Foster (Christie); and his pets, Blacky and Little Bit. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
