He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Reed and Evelyn Reed (Patton); his spouse Beverly Mattingly; his grandson Mason Lowe; his brothers, Gary Reed (Cotton) and Bob Reed; and his nephew Douglas Reed (Booger).

He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Whisenhunt (Jerry) of Exeter, Missouri; his granddaughters, Kayla (Steven Periman) of Cassville and Alyssa Whisenhunt of Cassville, Missouri; his great grandchildren, Blazi Lowe, Lucky Periman, Ava Periman and Roper Periman; and his siblings, Max Reed (Charlie) of Cassville, Steven Reed (Samantha) of Cassville, Missouri, Joyce Moore (Roy) of Aurora and Janice Cooper (Les) of Cassville, Missouri..
