He is survived by: his mother Lela Essary Hunter of Excelsior Springs; his brothers, Oscar Hunter Jr., Owen Hunter and Matt Hunter; his wife Shirley; his son Nathaniel; and his grandsons, Nathaniel Lee and Steven Arnold Hunter.
