He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his daughter Sheryl; and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his children, Denise Cates (David), Bobby Shemwell (Liberty) and Susan Franklin (Brent). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bross and Spidle Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at the Crown Hill Cemetery.
