It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Paul Schmidt (Excelsior Springs, Missouri), born in Kearney, Missouri, who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schmidt and Pauline Schmidt (Sautter); and his son-in-law Rick Fouts. He is survived by: his children, Barry Schmidt and Susan Fouts (Schmidt); his daughter-in-law Linda Schmidt (Ziegler); his grandchildren, Luke, Matt and Rachel Schmidt; his granddaughter-in-law Katie; his great grandchildren, Isabella, Wyatt and Charley Mae; his son Richard Fouts; his grandchildren, Gunner and Tucker; his sister Carolyn Craig (Keith Craig); his niece Barbara Robinson (Dave Robinson); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauren, Allison and Grant.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM. The military honors will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the United Methodist Church.
