With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Patricia Ann McNellis Shemwell of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Patricia leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Patricia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick McNellis and Rita McNellis; and her brother Tim McNellis. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Robert Shemwell; her siblings, Mike McNellis (Donna Foster), Ed McNellis (Vickie), Vince McNellis (Penni) and Mary Kay Sharp (Bill); and her stepchildren, Denise Cates (David), Bobby Shemwell (Debbie) and Susan Franklin (Brent). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

“Remembering Patty, we were classmates from kindergarten to graduation.. She was from a big family.They were so young and active and living on Van Brunt, I was envious. In our early 20s we were roommates in Westport. We shared many adventures. Then life happened and we reconnected at a reunion when we were 70. We were able to pick up right where we left off. Patty was that kind of person. I am saddened by her passing. The world has lost HER sunshine. My deepest condolences to her loved ones.”
