It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Carol Mings of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, who passed away on July 19, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Emmitt Alfred Mings; her parents, Ernest Nickols and Norma Nickols; her brother David Nichols; and her daughters, Myrna Ellington, Nannette Bretzke and Laura Joann Mings.

She is survived by: her children, Rachel, Gwen, Michael Mings (Kathy) and Jonathan Mings (Holly); her grandchildren, Rachel Stibal, Gwen Sisco, Rochelle Maze, Malory, Madison, Rebbecca, Isabel, Micailah, Daniel Mings, David Mings, Chris, Jordan, Jason and Jeremiah; her great grandchildren, Alexis Rock, Roland Sisco, Ezekiel, Elijah and Kameron Mings; and her sisters, Betty Sue Meadows, Barbara Ann Mayben and Patricia Bengimina.
