It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph Benjamin McGinnis of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Neal and Mattie Ashley McGinnis (Hall); his sister-in-law Iris Willson; and his siblings, Bill McGinnis (Barbara Davis), Peggy Dooley (Ralph), Betty Sue Knapp (John), Bob and Dick Wilson (Gere).
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann McGinnis (Wilson); his children, Chris McGinnis (Mell) of Rayville, MO, Sheri Wheaton (Jim) of Gravois Mills, MO, Sandy Ganzer (Donnie) of Excelsior Springs, MO and Tim McGinnis (Janet) of Kearney, MO.; and his grandchildren, Patrick McGinnis (Amber), Christina McGinnis, Darren Blackburn (Laura Nielson), Matthew Wheaton (Whitney), Mariah Wheaton, Zac Ganzer (Kayla), Luke Ganzer (Emily Keller), Brooke McGinnis, Brandon Petree (Mayme), Jessica McGinnis, Ashley Penning (Calvin) and Travis Andres (Hannah). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Bross & Spidle Funeral Home (217 W Broadway Ave, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
