It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Smedlund of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, born in Almond, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Smedlund; and her daughter-in-law Guyla Smedlund. She is survived by: her children, Jon Smedlund of Bashor, KS, Jean Pasieniuk (Ted) of Orrick, MO, Jeffrey Smedlund (Debi) of Omaha, NE, Jay Smedlund (Maureen) of Plattsmouth, NE and Jolene Loftin (Jim) of Excelsior Springs, MO; and her brother-in-law William Smedlund (Betty) of Kimberly, WI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Luke's Church memorial garden.
