She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Fifer and Anna Klataske Fifer; her son Kevin Carper; and her brother Arthur Fifer. She is survived by: her husband Larry A. Newton; her sons, Doug Carper (Bev) of Maywood, MO and Shane Newton (Dawn) of Ewing; and her brothers, Robert May (Dorothy) of Ewing and Don Fifer (Betty) of Ewing. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
