Merkel of Eureka, Missouri, born in Ballwin, Missouri, who passed away on September 1, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Merkel (Lorita) and Lorita Merkel; and his parents-in-law, Fred and Ethel Spinner. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Merkel of Union, MO; his sister Trena Lamorena (Al) of Ashburn, VA; his siblings-in-law, Jim Spinner (Ruth) and Gail Detjen (Don); and his pet Gus. He is also survived by five nephews; two nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Humane Society of Franklin County, Missouri Department of Conservation, or Masses.
