Lois Dean (Johnson) Mabry Obituary
Lois Johnson Mabry, 95, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 13, 2020. Lois, daughter of Lloyd and Mabel Bell Johnson, was born on February 26, 1925 in Eugene Missouri.
Lois completed high school in Eugene and moved to Kansas City, with her parents, on the day following her graduation.
On September 27, 1947, she married Dennis Mabry. Their daughter Janice was born in April 1951 and their daughter Linda was born in July of 1955.
During her daughters’ school years, Lois was active in PTA work at Bristol, Nowlin and Van Horn schools.
In July 1950, Dennis and Lois joined Fairmount Christian Church, where Lois served as president and treasurer of the Christian Crusaders Class as well their pianist. She also held service offices in the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Lois volunteered for twenty-one years at Independence Regional Hospital.
Lois enjoyed her flower gardens, as well as visiting with her neighbors in the 1800 block of Hawthorne in Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Johnson and Mabel Bell Johnson; and her husband Dennis Mabry. husband, Dennis, of fifty-four years. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Vernon) Putnam and daughter Linda (Lynam); grandchildren Stacey (Mike) Ross, Susan (Jason) Kleps, Ian (Heidi) Lynam and John Putnam; great grandchildren Jack and Charlie Ross, Julia and Asher Kleps, Maya, Austin and Keira Lynam; Tesla and Lincoln Putnam.
Lois loved the Lord and was eagerly awaiting the time when she could meet him in heaven
