James Charles Barber Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Charles Barber of Essex, Missouri, who passed away on December 16, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Isaac Barber and Stella Mae Stepp Barber; his brothers, Louis, Eugene, Seaborn, Clinton and Bob Barber; his brothers-in-law, Heinz and Walter Buttner; and his great grandchild Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his wife Hildegard Buttner (Helen); his daughters, Ingrid Williamson (Brett) of Essex, MO, Christine Young (Marty) of Dexter, MO, Susan Barber of Dexter, MO, Kathy McGhee (Mike) of Van Buren, MO, Peggy Evans (Kevin) of Essex, MO and Patty Barber May of Dexter, MO.; his grandchildren, Jonathan WIlliamson, Kendra Haas (David), Kaleigh Cordia (Dillon), Parker Evans (Kaleigh), Kelsey Hayes (Lofton), Rilee Jones, Chase Young (Morgan), Chandler Young and Alexis May; his great grandchildren, Logan, Harrison, Carter, Brady, James, Drake, Jon, Nate, Kennedy, Delaney, Clara May, Stella, Gracie, Drew and Hudson; his siblings, Avis Hupp of Sikeston and Jerry Barber (Glenda) of Dexter; and his siblings-in-law, Horst Buttner, Helmut Buttner (Rosi) and Inge Buttner of Germany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Memorials may be made to the local Stars & Stripes Museum or the local Disabled American Veterans or a charity of your choice.
