He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard and Hazel Shaffer (Canoy); his siblings, William Howard Shaffer II, Richard Shaffer, Michael Shaffer, Anthony Shaffer, Norita Bilberback, Sue McMahan, Linda Bell, Joan O'Neill, Cathy Amende, Deborah Strain and Loretta Shaffer; his grandson Brett Hayse Rinehart; and his great grandchild Kylie Brooke Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Shaffer of Ellsinore; his children, Robert Shaffer, Jr. (Karren) of Independence, Velina Putney (John) of Ellsinore, Lori Shaffer of Ellsinore and Mandy Hahn (Richard) of Ellsinore; his sister Stephanie Wright of Laquey; and his grandchildren, Paul Powell, Dustin Powell, Danyelle Alexander, Whitney Julian, Kandice Riggins, Robert Shaffer III, Jake Shaffer, Katelin Rinehart, Hailey Hahn, Hayden Hahn, Haven Hahn and Holden Hahn. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
