He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Cates (Lansing) and Charles Ivan Cates; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gunter of Grandin, Missouri.; his children, Michael Clayton, Robert Bradley, Amanda Kay, Clay Cates (Michelle) and Brad Cates (Pam); his grandchildren, Kirsten Brookshire (Jaymes), Hayley, Noah, Lilianna, Emelia, Mikey, Elizabeth and Aurora; his siblings, Ron Cates, Diane Neely and Pat Cates; and his pet Bud. He is also survived by his kids, grandkids, and any family or friends.
