He was predeceased by: his father Glenford Ray Gant; and his stepfather Winferd Jim Mooney. He is survived by: his mother Mona Lee Carr of Ellington, MO; his close friend Connie Rains of Ellington, MO; his sons, Clayton (Christy Gant) of Poplar Bluff, MO and Caleb (Brittani Gant) of Eminence, MO; his sister Suzanne (Kent Knott) of Lenoir City, TN; his stepsister Jerri (Wayne Marlin) of Salem, MO; his grandchildren, William and Gwendolyn Gant; and his uncle Tommy (Marjorie Carr) of West Plains, MO.
Governor Mike Parson has suggested the public maintain social distancing of no closer than six feet to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in the name of Steve Gant to go to St Jude's Children's Hospital.
