He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Franklin Helt and Jesse Edna Helt (Sutton); and his siblings, James Carl Helt, Raymond Helt, Thomas Helt and Betty G. Williams.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Helt of Centerville; his children, Thomas Helt (Joyce) of Brenda and Bonnie Hutson (Bob) of Hood River; and his brother Richard Helt of Gentry. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
