He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Edward Surls, Sr. and Antoinette Carmella Surls (Blasi); his brother Frank Surls; his nephew Frank C. Surls; and his brother-in-law Fred Meyer.
He is survived by: his sons, Terry, Carl (Chris) and Steve Surls; his grandchildren, Rachel and Shawn; and his sisters, Judy Mathews (Paul), Linda Meyer and Toni Pazos (Joseph). He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
