He was predeceased by: his father Charles Hartwell; and his siblings, Charles Hartwell, Jr. and Theresa Keeth. He is survived by: his mother Gladeys Hartwell (Cowen); his daughters, Amber Brand (Michael), Courtney Wilson (Trent), Ruth Ann Kirby (Kirby) and Mary Jane Simmons; and his sisters, Sharlene Young (Roger) and Connie Farris (Herman). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
