He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Carol Marie Hanes (Hargest); his son Michael Lee Hanes; and his brother Harold "Boose" Hanes. He is survived by: his daughters, Ellna Winther of Columbia, MO, Naomi Hanes of Lebanon, MO and Pearl Hanes of Eldon, MO; his grandsons, Kevin Hanger, Trevor Hanger, Austin Hanger and Conrad Winther; and his siblings, Ben Hanes (Janice), Scott Hanes, Robert Hanes, Paula Hanes, Shad Hanes (Darlene), Brian Hanes, Chris Hanes and Lisa Marie Trower (Michael).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1168 Kk Dr, Osage Beach, MO 65065). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1168 Kk Dr, Osage Beach, MO 65065).
