She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Shumate and Jackie Shumate (McWade); her husband John Nixon; and her siblings, Bill, Bob, Steve, Frank Shumate and Linda.
She is survived by: her close friend Clarence Jenkins; and her children, John (Angie), Les Nixon (Windy), Stephanie Stephens (Sean) and Valerie Kiser (Mark). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
