He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma Apperson (Moats); his sister Alvia Stiffler; and his son-in-law Curtis Morris. He is survived by: his former wife Alicia Apperson (Hall); his children, Doug Apperson (Jill) and Monica Smith (Jerry); his stepchildren, Barb Pearson (Maurice), Jackie Moats, Greg Moats (Debbie) and Janet Morris; his stepgrandson Zachary Jewell; and his sister Priscilla Walkup (Dale). He is also survived by nineteen other grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren & four great-great grandchildren.

Larry and Wilma donated time and materials to the Rock Island Park and Apperson Ball Field in Eldon, MO.
