He was predeceased by: his parents, Romea Givens and Mary Givens (Engel); his wife Helen Ann Sorenson; and his siblings, John Givens and Betty Booth.
He is survived by: his sons, Fred Givens, James Givens Jr. (D'Lisa) and Ernest Givens (Allison); his grandchildren, Rachel (Andrew), Hannah (Brandon) and Tyler (Taelor); and his great grandchildren, Parker, Jaxon, Liam, Romy, Vada, Jade and Ivy. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in James' memory to the Missouri Veterans Home, 1 Veterans Dr, Mexico, MO 65265.
