He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Mae Shepherd (Robinett) and Edwin Shepherd; his brother Michael Shepherd; and his niece Patricia A. Shepherd-Lodge. He is survived by: his daughter Pamela Cooper of Eldon, MO; his granddaughters, Harmony Wall of Eldon, MO and Kathrine Maples (Gregory) of Eldon, MO; and his great grandchildren, Tucker and Chayce Maples.
