He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Mowell and Ruth 'Eidson' Mowell; his wife Flossie; his son Steven Purl; his brothers, William Mowell and John Newton Mowell; and his daughter-in-law Rhonda Mowell.
He is survived by: his son Alan Mowell of Edwards, MO; his grandchildren, Steven, Chad, Justin, Courtney and Stephanie; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Brian, Stevie, Casen, Landen, Brooklyn, Kelton and Attea; his sisters, Marie Bryson and Wilma Ebert; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Wood.
