He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Lee and Sallie Lousia Goad (Arnold); his stepfather Shelby Roark; his sons, Wayne Goad and Wesley Goad; his grandson Jon Johnson; and his brothers, David, Danny and Tom Goad.

He is survived by: his wife Florence Marie Cockriel; his daughter Janet Art (Steve); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica Art and Danny Goad; and his siblings, Bill Goad (Maryann), Steve Goad (Beverly), Ella Dunham and Joyce Burke (Gary). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
