He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Widener and Emma Widener (Heavin); and his wife Betty Widener. He is survived by: his children, Thea Widener of Bakersfield, CA, Sherry Paul of Bakersfield, CA, Sheila Shearer of Bakersfield, CA and Sherman Widener (Michelle) of Edgar Springs, MO; and also Jeff Jones (Ko) of Edgar Springs, MO. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren.

The family has requested any memorial donations to be made to the Missouri Veterans Home, St. James, MO.
