He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Minnie Estella Melton (Steele); his son-in-law David W. Brown Jr.; and his siblings, Kenneth, Lloyd Melton and Ada Jenkins.
He is survived by: his daughter Cathy; his wife Wanda; his children, Douglas Wayne Melton (Toni Elaine) of Edgar Springs, MO, Debra Kay Brown of Edgar Springs, MO, Steven Dale Melton (Stephanie Kae) of Edgar Springs, MO and Catherine Renee'Tayloe (Robert Eugene Tayloe II) of St. Louis, MO; his grandsons, John, Kent, Andrew and Zachary Melton; and his great grandchildren, Ashby Melton, Sterling Melton, Veda Melton and Bodhi Melton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
