He was predeceased by: his parents, John Meade and Maudie Mae Meade (Hook); his wife Venita Meade; his siblings, Darlene McKown, Bud Meade, Bob Meade and Mary Lee Meade; and his nephew Jim McKown.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Robb (Marshall) and Shelley Black (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Atley Marks, Hillary Deitz (Tyler), Lauren Tan (Lawrence), Isaac Black (Amy), Ellen DeVoss (David) and Stuart Robb (Christiana Hamann). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
