He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carl and Beula Peniston (Wetzel); his wife Darlene Meisner Peniston; his brother John M; his nephew Richard; his brother Robert (Frances); his son Robert; his brothers-in-law, Paul Read and Don Hole; and also Pat.

He is survived by: his daughters, Suzanne King (John) and Carla Peniston; his siblings, Dan (Loretta), Shirley Read and Lila Hole; his sister-in-law Jewell Peniston; and his grandchildren, Richard King (Laura), Emily Cayton (Mitch) and Kristin King.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Joseph Family YMCA Heartbeat Fund, or Patee House Museum.
