He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Dowdy and Luella Goodwin Dowdy; his wife Rita Diane Denton; his son Kenneth Ray Dowdy, Jr.; and his siblings, Jimmy Joe Dowdy, Billy Gene Dowdy, Sr., Gary Dale Dowdy, William Dowdy, Larry Dowdy, Travis Marvin Dowdy, Patti Britt and Ruby George.
He is survived by: his daughters, Katina Dowdy of East Prairie and Savoy Dowdy of Sikeston, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
