He was predeceased by: his parents, C. J. Barnett and Dorothy Roberts Barnett; and his former wife Brenda Little Barnett. He is survived by: his children, Jace Barnett of Holts Summit, Buddy Barnett of Holts Summit, Joseph Barnett, Jr. of Minneapolis, Jeffrey Barnett of New Haven, Missouri and Angela Watkins of Jackson, Missouri; his stepson Bryan Tubbs of Anniston, Missouri; his siblings, Ralph Sullivan, Arthur Sullivan, Robert Sullivan and Dorothy Tessmer; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Ashlyn, Lesley and Kierra. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
