With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jo Rodgers Choate (East Prairie, Missouri), born in Sikeston, Missouri, who passed away on September 26, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nettie O'Conner Rodgers and James F. Rodgers; her husband George W. Choate; her daughter Heather Choate Hamilton; and her grandchild Lauren Elizabeth Capper.
She is survived by: her children, James L. Choate (Jean) of Crown Point, IN, Sabe D. Choate (Faye) of Kansas City, MO, William D. Choate (Karen) of Madison, AL, Harley E. Choate IV (Kathy) of Kiln, MS, Cindy Choate Gibson (Kurt) of Porter, OK., Spud Hockersmith (Linda), Richard Hockersmith (Judy) and Susan Hockersmith Paskel; and her grandchildren, Susan Lyn Choate DeVries, Amanda Choate Matney, Harley E. Choate V, Danielle Rae Choate, Lauren Ashley Choate, Elizabeth Dani Choate, Natalie Jo Choate, Jimmy Gibson, Melissa Gibson, Tonya Tomlin, Corey Gordon and Tammie Capper Bumpus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
