He is survived by: his child Ronald McDonald House; his wife Diane Voelkerding; his children, Eric Voelkerding (Susan) of Washington, Theresa Fitzpatrick (Mike) of Dutzow and Brian Voelkerding (Lindsey) of St. Charles; his siblings, Karen Marquart (Bill) of Dutzow and Yvonne Maune (Steve) of Augusta; and his grandchildren, Danielle, Megan, Nicole, Stephanie and Tyler. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or Ronald McDonald House.
