He was predeceased by: his father Gary Houghton; his brother Jeffery Houghton; and his brother-in-law Charlie Boyer. He is survived by: his mother Phyllis Boyle; his sisters, Beth Boyer (Kevin Holdren) of Memphis and Jodie Holt (Gary) of Arbela, Missouri; and his nieces and nephews, Nycole Harbison (Todd), Cali Smith (Weston), Seth Dunnett (Barbara), Cody Holt (Ashley) and Jade Holt. He is also survived by five great nieces and 2 great nephews.
