He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Emmons and Gertrude Emmons (Landsel); and his brothers, Jerald, J. W. and Wayne Emmons.
He is survived by: his wife Vera; his son Jerry; his daughter-in-law Cathy; his grandchildren, Brian Emmons (Anna), Jeremy Emmons (Gail) and Kristy McElhaney (Greg); his son Ron Emmons (Karen); his granddaughters, Erica Smith (Brad) and Vanessa Adams (Ryan); and his siblings, Bill Emmons (Maryetta), Virginia Wertenberger, Wanda Lyerla and Betty Brooks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
