He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Buckner and Iva Buckner (Leslie); and his children, Leslie "Sonny" Buckner, David Buckner and Carol Gitthens.
He is survived by: his former wife Verna Pauline Martin Buckner; his wife Margaret Mercer; his children, Brenda Scott of Azle, TX., Paul (Bennie) and Debbie of Poplar Bluff, MO; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Buckner of Doniphan. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
