He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold L. Rice and Verna Mae Rice (Smith); his wife Lorene Rice; his siblings, Elizabeth Chaligoj, Donna, Nona-Joe, Carol, Joyce, Charles, Harold Dean and John; his son Ricky Davis; and his grandson Josh Wadin.
He is survived by: his close friend Faye Abbott; his former wife Margie Crewes; his sister Florene; his close friend Sylvia Richmond; his sister-in-law Florene Harp; and his children, James Davis (Roberta), Steven Rice (Beatrice), Ellen Ballard (Jim), Juanita Bartel, Carla Webster (Doug) and Vonnie Martin (John). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
