It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Jean Gibson of Doniphan, Missouri, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Chester Ordell Gibson; her siblings, Dellalou Roberts (Lloyd) and Ernst; her brother-in-law Raymond Meiners; and her grandson Cody Lowery.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joan Lowery (Bruce) of Doniphan, MO and Virginia Campbell (Richard) of Hernando, MS; her sister Dorothy Virginia Meiners of Kansas City, MO; and her grandchildren, Cammi Pierce (Greg), Bob, Natalie, Lisa, Daryl, Octavia, Keshia, Davy, Wade (Madi), Shawn, Rashawn, Jordan Lowery, Ryan Crihfield (Ashley), Evan Campbell (Hannah), Layci Darby (Michael) and Payton Campbell (Erica). She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel (606 Walnut St, Doniphan, MO 63935). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
