He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Ray and Verla May Avery (Robertson); and his brothers, Gaylon "Johnny", George Anthony, Glenn Earl "Bud" and Allen Dale.
He is survived by: his spouse Garlett Palmer; his children, Jeanette Renee Avery of Chesapeake, VA and Travis Avery (Liana) of Everett, WA; his sisters, Linda Avery Kimbrell (Neal) of Ladson, SC and Teena Avery Haglund of Toccoa, GA.; his grandchildren, Kyle Evans, Mathew Wayne Avery, Ashley Taelor Moseng Rabon (Patrick), Ariel Elizabeth Moseng, Autumn Celeste Avery and Logan Tyler Avery; his great grandchildren, Jessie, Emilee, Austin, McKenley, Greyson, Ella, Damon and Ryker; and his friend Mark Stine of Athens, AL..
