He is survived by: his spouse Betty Joplin; his children, Carl Dean "Sonny" Brooks, Sandra Decker and Cheryl Schrimsher; his sister Vergie Ward of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Heather French, Stephanie Lindsey, Dana Hollon, Amanda Brooks, Bud Decker and Chera Dean; his great grandchildren, Emma, Nathan, Hannah, Gavan, Derek, Jacob, Taylor, Carly and Lane; and his great great grandchildren, Jayden, Braelynn, Peyton, Jacelynn, Laikynn and Malia.
