He was predeceased by: his parents, James Allen Dorris and Rose Shankle Dorris; his children, Allen Turner Dorris, Jr., Rebecca J. Dorris and Michelle Bowles; his sister Sharon Leal; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Bowles.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Pemberton; his children, Gary Dorris (Barbara), Scott Dorris, Kenneth Dorris (Melanie), Michael Bowles (Sheila), David Bowles, Rhonda Whybark (Chris) and Ronald Bowles; and his siblings, Lucy Slaven, Shelby Holmes, Terri Dampier, Ann Staggs (Curtis), Wylie Dorris, Larry Dorris, Lola Bryars (Walter), Gary Dorris (Stephanie) and Archie Dorris (Lynn). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; also, a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.
