He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Fortman and Agnus Fortman (Gass); and his siblings, Paul, Leo, Fred, Jim, Jenny and Suzie.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Fortman (Tracy) of Ankeny, Richard "Richie" Fortman of Wappapello, Katie Hale of Sikeston and Mary Young (Jon) of Marlow; and his siblings, Richard Fortman of Glennonville, Bernard Fortman of Troy, Agnus Altmeyer of Evansville, Dena Fortman of Glennonville and Cecilia Fortman of St. Louis. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Watkins Funeral Homes - Dexter (301 N Walnut St, Dexter, MO 63841). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
