He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert A Garner and Cora Lee Garner (DeArman); and his siblings, Lewis, Lester, Ivan, Hubert, Chester, Robert, Larry, Loyd Garner, Myrl Cook, Emma Stallion, Norma Grubbs and Maxine Gillis.
He is survived by : his wife Evelyn Jane Thomen of Dexter; his son James David Garner of Greenville, IL; his grandchildren, Neil Richey (Emily), Clint Richey (Abbie) and Elaine Dodd (Will); and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Rebekah, Harper, Hayden, Mac, Gwyn, Reagan and Weston. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.
