She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lewis Gilbert and Jessie Bane Gilbert; her son Roger Dale Tanner; and her siblings, Wesley Gilbert, Lee Gilbert and Levaughn Allen.

She is survived by: her husband Walter Harold Tanner; her children, Timothy Harold Tanner (Rachel) of Union, Kentucky and Paula Aline Pfeffer (Mike) of Dexter, Missouri; her siblings, Leonard Gilbert of Naylor, Larry Gilbert of Essex, Dean Gilbert of Naylor, Missouri, Lorene Wiggins of Wauchula, Jessie Tanner of Dexter, Mary Mitchem of Murfreesboro, Jeanette Bewley of Russellville and Betty Conway of Salem, Missouri; and her grandchildren, Timothy Shane Tanner (Julie), Amy Nicole Tanner, Aron Pfeffer (Susan), Eric Pfeffer (Morgan), Zakri Tanner and Tiffany Tanner. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
