He was predeceased by: his parents, S. E. Gillespie and Edna Clodfelter Gillespie; and his siblings, Aileen Rummel, Geneva Douglas Siler, Vergie Lee Tiller, Gussie Tiller, Blair Gillespie and Dwight Gillespie (PD).
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Gillespie (Phyllis) of Nolensville, Angie Barnfield (Bob) of Bloomfield and Ruthann Bradshaw (Dale) of Dexter; his grandchildren, Christian Bell (Mendy) of Dexter, Dr. Ryan Gillespie (Kristen) of Nashville and Dr Leslie Gillespie-Marthaler (Skye) of Chesterbrook; his great grandchildren, Carson Bell, Clayton Bell, Cameron Bell, Olivia Gillespie, Hazel Gillespie, Magnus Marthaler, Jonithan Dodson and Graison Dodson; his siblings, Walter Gillespie (Janet) of Charolotte, Don (Darlene) of Phillipsburg and Clara Kull of Irvine, California.; and his close friend Kathryn Williams.
