He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Walther and Gordean Walther (Cassidy); and his sisters, Betty Josias and Francis Pueschel. He is survived by: his children, Wesley Bell of DeSoto, MO and Whitney Martin (Eileen Bell) of Hillsboro, MO; his sister Sherri Heckankamp of Ware, MO; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Wes Jr., Mary Kathryn, Claire, Bobbi-Jo and Cecelia. He is also survived by numerous family members and dear friends.

“I worked with Ed at Northwest High School during my first few years of teaching high school math. Many of my classes had a number of students who today would be eligible for special services. Ed was such a help to me in managing student behavior and curriculum. I learned a lot from Ed and will always be grateful for his friendship! My deepest sympathy to Ed's family.
