It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Ellen Teaney of DeKalb, Missouri, who passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Downing (Hiatt) and Frank Downing; her husband Paris "Jack" Teaney Jr.; and her siblings, Betty Spillman, Everett and Russell Downing.
She is survived by: her sons, Jim Teaney (Jeanie) of Kansas City, KS, Bob Teaney (Patty) of Princeton, KY and David Teaney (Renee) of Shawnee, KS; her sister-in-law Sue Teaney of New Mexico; her grandchildren, Joelle Kernitzki (Dwayne), Jayanne Teaney-Lierz (Randy), Matt Teaney, Jared Teaney (Sydney) and Rebecca Barker (Anthony); and her great grandchildren, Tony, Silas, Kemper, Elise, Cameron, Phoenix, Justin and Robbyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westlawn Cemetery Association or to DeKalb Christian Church.
