He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomas and Ulah Irene Shanks (Farr); his wife Dollie Mae; and his son Billy Ray, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Lonnie Shanks and Diane McKown (Jerry); his granddaughters, Tina Martin, Jamie Erisman, Summer Black and Heather Shanks; his great grandchildren, Anthony Martin, Jesse Martin, Cameron Leupold, Alyssa Szczygiel, Danyelle Chadwick and Riley Calhoun; and his great great grandchildren, Karson and Kade.
